Jeff has 17 years of ministry experience, beginning as a Pioneer Boys Club leader at Park Avenue Methodist Church in Minneapolis when he was a freshman at Bethel College. After several years serving in existing ministries in various capacities, Jeff felt God calling him to plant a new church. He did so in 2001 when he started Loungedivine (now defunct), a young, postmodern, urban faith community in St. Paul, MN. Then God led Jeff and his family to a completely cross-cultural experience, pastoring Cushing Baptist Church – a rural, traditional, 100 year-old established church.
These last two experiences laid the foundation for where God has now led the Gausses – to church planting once again. Epiphany Station is a unique opportunity in that it blends the cultural relevancy and authenticity of Loungedivine with the simple rurality of Cushing Baptist. It is as if God tailor-made Jeff & Heidi for this opportunity.
Jeff has a B.A. in youth ministry (1995) from Bethel College and a Master of Divinity (2006) from Bethel Seminary.
Jeff and Heidi met when they were both freshmen at Bethel College and have been married for 13 years. Heidi earned her B.A. in elementary education (1995) from Bethel College and her Master of Education (1996) from Winona State University. She spent 7 years as a classroom teacher and 7 years as a education consultant and trainer. She now devotes her time and expertise to training her three adventurous boys aged 8, 5 and 2.
As a family, the Gausses enjoy biking, hiking, camping, playing games and going for moon walks (night hikes under a full moon).
The Gausses are currently looking for a home in Thief River Falls and will be moving (into a new home, hopefully!) the last weekend in June.
